Macy’s is getting into the designer collaboration game. Just like you see designer capsule collections pop up at H&M and Target, now Macy’s is launching its own designer lines, kicking off its first February 15th with Kinder Aggugini (inset), an Italian designer who has worked with John Galliano, Donatella Versace and Vivienne Westwood. (FYI: Karl Lagerfeld is also planning a collection for Macy’s later this year!). “When I design, I hear music, very much like a soundtrack in a movie,” Aggugini told us this week at a preview for his Macy’s collection, which ranges from $38 to $298 (dress shown is $78). “I design in my head—I have a full visual imagination of the garment I’m about to make. And this collection is pure rock and roll. That means floral dresses, backless rompers and plenty of Aggugini’s signature polka dots. Click through the gallery for a preview of the collection.

Project Runway Alum Irina Shabayeva’s New Line for Macy’s

[tiImage width=”300″ height=”450″ url=”http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2011/wrn/012111-inc-lead-300.jpg” credit=”Courtesy INC” align=”right” border=”0″ alt=”Irina Shabayeva”]Irina Shabayeva, winner of Project Runway‘s sixth season, teamed up with Macy’s to create her first capsule collection for the retailer’s INC International Concepts label, launching next month. “It’s just a little taste of what I do across the board,” Shabayeva (inset) told us of her dance-inspired INC line, which includes color-blocked patterns on skirts, blouses, dresses and shoes in silk, chiffon and jersey material. “The detail and the embellishments that are becoming my signature, I’m bringing to INC. It gives so many women the opportunity to own a piece of what I do.” The footwear is our top pick—strappy sandals fit for spring. “The shoes followed the same dance-inspired theme,” she said. “They are made in jersey, and they lace-up, which is a hint of ballet.” The line, priced $59 to $169, hits Macy’s stores February 19th. See Shabayeva’s entire collection for INC in the gallery.

Fashion Designers Announce Charitable Green Fashion Show

Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Rachel Roy (design shown) and more announced today that they are taking part in Runway to Green, a charitable fashion show to be held in New York on March 29, reports WWD. While the fashions that will be seen at the show—which will be from the designers’ fall 2011 collections—aren’t required to be eco-friendly, all of the clothes shown will go on sale immediately after the show on Net-a-Porter.com. The proceeds will benefit various environmental causes, including the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Alliance for Climate Protection. Who Designed Rihanna's Panther Swimsuit?

Rihanna relaxed on the beaches of Barbados (her home turf) this week wearing a panther-print swimsuit by the Australian brand We Are Handsome. The label, designed by Indhra Chagoury and Jeremy Somers (inset), launched in 2009 with the idea of putting retro prints and images on classic cuts. “You can’t help but be captured by the prints and their bold beauty,” Chagoury told us about the line, when we caught up with the duo today about the suit. As for their reaction to Rihanna’s look: “We love it! She looks unbelievably hot, and it totally suits her personal style.” The suit, part of the resort 2011 collection, is available for $375 on Net-A-Porter.com.

The designer (inset), who is known for her swimwear, sleeping bag coats and goddess dresses (as seen here on Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City 2), told the crowd at the FashInvest’s Capital Conference last week in New York that she is working on a lower-price collection that will be exclusive to her Web site. Kamali, who already launched the successful NK for Walmart lower-priced line in 2008 (which she wore to the event), told InStyle exclusively, “The [new] collection is for those on a low budget and women who are simply smart shoppers with great style, who know how to mix high and low.” While Kamali is still in the early stages of creating the line and getting investors, it’s never too early to get excited for a lower-price designer collection—we can’t wait!

One of our favorite items from the line are the gemstone-hued Freeform Shape Drop Earrings (shown in amethyst purple, $27; at QVC.com), which Gruss also loves. “If I wear my hair in a ponytail, they are a great statement look,” the designer told us. “And even if I wear my hair down, the purple color is bold enough that it peaks through and adds the perfect pop of color to my outfit.” Check out the gallery to see six other great holiday pieces, all under $100.
