Amy Adams selected a strapless teal blue gown by Marchesa, which featured lasercut detailing on its scalloped bodice, for her walk down the Golden Globes red carpet. “This is our first time dressing Amy and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig told InStyle.com exclusively. “She is always so elegant.” This Marchesa creation is part of the label’s pre-fall 2011 collection, and the designers shared an exclusive sketch of the look, shown left, with InStyle! Adams, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress that night, finished the look with a rectangle clutch by Kilian Hennessy. See a close-up of the sketch in the gallery.
Finding the perfect dress for theGolden Globes isn’t an easy task. Just ask True Grit‘s Hailee Steinfeld. “I honestly tried on probably a countless amount of dresses,” the 14-year-old actress told us at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles, where she wore a peach one-shoulder mini by Marchesa. “The one I picked [for the Globes] was the last dress I tried on. After you’ve tried on a number of dresses, you don’t even want to put on anymore and you’re so upset by the fact that you haven’t found one. Then I put this one on and I fell in love with the way it fit.” The one that stole her heart? A cream gown by Prabal Gurung (shown), which she accessorizedwith Tiffany & Co.jewelry and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. “Fashion is something I’ve gotten into these past couple months,” Steinfeld told us. “When I see something that I really like, I just go for it.”
Blake Lively mixed pops of color for her look at the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York last night. The Gossip Girl star hit the red carpet to celebrate her Best Ensemble Cast award for The Town with co-stars Ben Affleck and Jon Hamm wearing a laser-cut purple Marchesadress with ruffle sleeves, which she paired with bold turquoise accessories by Lorraine Schwartz. Jennifer Garneralso reached for a bright hue, choosing a magenta Roland Mouret design. See Lively and Garner—as well as Jennifer Lawrence, Michelle Williams and more—in the gallery.

Nicole Richie‘s dream wedding to Joel Madden last Saturday in Beverly Hills involved everything from elephants to Reverend Run as the officiant. But what was truly spectacular were the three different Marchesadresses she wore for the occasion. “Marchesa was both honored and thrilled to create the gowns for Nicole’s special day,” the label’s designers and InStyle contributors Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig (inset) said. “She has such incredible style and we worked with her closely to develop the different looks. Each design is a reflection of her vision and taste as well as Marchesa’s signature aesthetic.” The ivory lace and crystal long-sleeve gown she wore for the ceremony, which Richie said was inspired by Grace Kelly, was made with 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals and included embroidery of the couple’s names on her sleeve.

So what will she wear? Right now, it’s widely speculated that the 29-year-old mother of two will choose a Marchesa gown (though a vintage Chanel dress is also reportedly in the running). Richie is a big fan of the line, designed by InStyle contributors Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman; she’s seen here in a dress from their Fall 2009 collection.
