Rose McGowan and Kate Middleton have remarkably similar styles, a fact McGowan cherishes. “If it’s good enough for Kate Middleton, it’s good enough for me!” McGowan told us at Entertainment Weekly’s pre-SAG party in Hollywood, where she wore a hot pink Issa gown, a look that Middleton had worn previously in a slightly different cut. And this that wasn’t the first time McGowan and the Princess-to-be shared an Issa look. “I wore [the label’s] bright green gown to the MOCA and then Kate Middleton wore the blue one to announce her engagement to, you know, the Prince.” So why does she love the Kate Middleton-approved label? “Issa really embraces women’s forms,” McGowan told us. But don’t expect McGowan to admit that she and Middleton are exactly the same. “It might be Issa that brought us together,” she said. “But I don’t wear funny hats. And she probably doesn’t wear five-inch heels.”
Justin Timberlake turns 30 today! And the birthday boy looks much different than when we first met him nearly two decades ago on the Mickey Mouse Club. Since then, the multi-tasking actor/singer/William Rast designer transformed in the public eye from an ‘NSYNC boy-band member who wore shirts that say “Nasty” on them (see left) into a someone known for his dapper style, as evidenced last night when he wore a black tuxedo by Simon Spurr to the SAG Awards. There is no over-the-hill for this guy!Celebrate Justin Timberlake’s birthday by checking out his complete style evolution.
While many celebrates walked the red carpet at the SAG Awards last night, Ashton Kutcher and Gisele Bündchenstrutted in a different way down under—on a runway in São Paulo, Brazil. The two were in town for São Paulo Fashion Week, and walked in the Colcci fashion show. Bündchen flaunted her post-baby body in a bustier black look topped with a coat. Kutcher, who got his start in the business as a model, returned to the runway in a dusty gray leather jacket, loose gray tee and a pair of dark jeans. Kutcher’s wife Demi Moore and her daughter Tallulah Willis sat in the front row.
The Glee ladies shined on the SAG Awards red carpet. Most of the cast’s leading ladies chose light colors, like Lea Michele in a sparkly dress by Oscar de la Renta, Heather Morris in a blush chiffon Romona Keveza gown and Jayma Mays in a peach Jenny Packham dress that featured a beaded sleeve. Meanwhile, Amber Riley and Dianna Agron both chose dark hues; Riley in a black Anne Barge mermaid gown and Agron in a navy tea-length Chanel couture look. “I’ve never felt girlier!” said Agron, pictured. The competition is heating up on Gossip Girl. Blair landed an internship at W magazine (shown here wearing a Valentino cardigan, Organic John Patrick shorts, Salvatore Ferragamo belt, Hue tights, Usai blouse and J. Lingnau necklace and Ralph Lauren heels). However, the position loses its grandeur when she learns Dan just landed the same one. Tune in to the CW Monday at 9/8c to find out what happens. Macy’s is getting into the designer collaboration game. Just like you see designer capsule collections pop up at H&M and Target, now Macy’s is launching its own designer lines, kicking off its first February 15th with Kinder Aggugini (inset), an Italian designer who has worked with John Galliano, Donatella Versace and Vivienne Westwood. (FYI: Karl Lagerfeld is also planning a collection for Macy’s later this year!). “When I design, I hear music, very much like a soundtrack in a movie,” Aggugini told us this week at a preview for his Macy’s collection, which ranges from $38 to $298 (dress shown is $78). “I design in my head—I have a full visual imagination of the garment I’m about to make. And this collection is pure rock and roll.” That means floral dresses, backless rompers and plenty of Aggugini’s signature polka dots. Click through the gallery for a preview of the collection.
New Kmart designerSofia Vergara joined Rachel Zoe, Cat Deeley, Julie Benz and more at a dinner toasting women in television presented by Elle magazine in Los Angeles last night. A pregnant Zoe showed off her baby bump in a black draped gown, while Vergara wore a tight strapless sheath that highlighted her curves. “The good thing is that because I’m Latin, I think I’m expected to be a little bit more plump and voluptuous,” Vergara said of her signature sexy look. “I think they want me with a little bit of meat.” Both ladies wore Ports 1961, as the Fiona Cibani-designed label sponsored the dinner. The ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsknow how to pile on the jewelry. And—surprise—not all of their dazzling stunners are real. The shimmering emerald drop earrings that Kyle Richards made famous on the show are actually imitation emeralds, designed by Kenneth Jay Lane, an interpretation of the Lorraine Schwartz earrings Angelina Jolie wore to the Oscars in 2009. While Jolie’s were real—worth an estimated $2.5 million—Richards’ were purchased for $125 at the Jennifer Miller Jewelry store. “It takes a lady of style like Kyle and my wonderful clients to be confident enough to mix fine with faux jewelry,” Miller told us, adding that Kim Richards bought the earrings for her sister. Kelly Ripa, an admittedly huge fan of the Beverly Hills housewives, Tweeted earlier this week that Kyle Richards gave her a pair, too. Malia Obama, the president’s eldest daughter, is taking after her mother First Lady Michelle Obama as a rising style star. Last week, the 12-year-old wore a green printed dress by Chris Benzfor the White House state dinner, a look from the designer’s spring 2010 collection. Meanwhile, her mother chose a red gown by Alexander McQueen for the same occasion.
