Macy’s is getting into the designer collaboration game. Just like you see designer capsule collections pop up at H&M and Target, now Macy’s is launching its own designer lines, kicking off its first February 15th with Kinder Aggugini (inset), an Italian designer who has worked with John Galliano, Donatella Versace and Vivienne Westwood. (FYI: Karl Lagerfeld is also planning a collection for Macy’s later this year!). “When I design, I hear music, very much like a soundtrack in a movie,” Aggugini told us this week at a preview for his Macy’s collection, which ranges from $38 to $298 (dress shown is $78). “I design in my head—I have a full visual imagination of the garment I’m about to make. And this collection is pure rock and roll.” That means floral dresses, backless rompers and plenty of Aggugini’s signature polka dots. Click through the gallery for a preview of the collection.

The answer is Rachel Roy. The New York designer created the silver silk shift dress that First Lady Michelle Obama wore for the President’s State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. last night. She accessorized with drop earrings and stacked lucite bracelets, and she also pinned on a black and white ribbon in memory of the Tuscon shootings. “The First Lady looked picturesque and elegant at last night’s State of the Union Address,” Roy told InStyle exclusively of seeing her design on Michelle Obama. “I am humbled by the tremendous support she has shown me and it is always the highest honor to have her wear one of my designs.” Obama has worn Roy’s designs more than eight times for public appearances during her husband’s presidency.

The white dress Kate Middleton made famous by wearing in her engagement photos with Prince William can be yours starting today. Reiss, the label that created the “Nannette” dress for its collection last year, is reissuing the piece and including it in its spring 2011 lineup for $325. “We have received a tremendous response both in calls and online, and the Nannette will be available online this week,” David Reiss, founder and managing director of Reiss, told InStyle exclusively. “[We] have been inundated with requests.” The company created a Love the Nannette Dress Web page so those interested can register to be alerted when it becomes available online today. For those who would rather see it in person, the dress hits stores February 7th.

It gives so many women the opportunity to own a piece of what I do.” The footwear is our top pick—strappy sandals fit for spring. “The shoes followed the same dance-inspired theme,” she said. “They are made in jersey, and they lace-up, which is a hint of ballet.” The line, priced $59 to $169, hits Macy’s stores February 19th. See Shabayeva’s entire collection for INC in the gallery.
Designer Doo.Ri Chung (inset), who has dressed Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox, teamed up with jewelry designer Melissa Joy Manning to create a line of eco-friendly jewelry that just landed in stores. “Fallen spider webs were a key theme in the development of Doo.Ri’s collection,” Manning told InStyle of the pieces, which debuted at Doo.Ri’s spring 2011 fashion show and are made of recycled silver in Manning’s eco-certified Berkeley, California studio. “I had been independently documenting webs found in nature, so this was an ideal collaboration that came together easily under our collective efforts.” The cuffs, necklaces and rings are available online at LaGarconne.com.
