Hairstyles at last night’s SAG Awards ranged from sexy shaken-out waves like Lea Micheleto a teased, oversize bun like Jennifer Lawrence. And we got the inside scoop on their looks, thanks to celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend. “Lea put her dress on, and I immediately saw a very modern ’70s diva,” he told us. “I gave her a big, full blowout with a small round brush for as much volume as possible.” As for Lawrence, he created a look that was young, fun and modern. “I wanted there to be tons of texture inside the bun, but I wanted it to be smooth,” Townsend said. The singer first revealed her new look via Twitter while working on a music video for “S&M,” a track off her new album Loud. Then last night, she appeared in Los Angeles almost unrecognizable under her voluminous curls (shown). But Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to rock big, bold hair in recent years. Check out a gallery of our favorite big hair looks.

Rihanna‘s perfume is almost here! The singer’s first scent, named Reb’l Fleur after a nickname her grandmother gave her—a phrase she also had tattooed on her neck last summer—will hit stores January 25th. And Rihanna couldn’t be more excited: “I have never been happy with just one scent,” Rihanna told InStyle exclusively. “I have always layered scents to create something just my own, but nothing was ever perfect. Beauty routines change with the weather. And now that the temperatures dropped, we caught up with the gorgeous celebrities at the CoverGirl 50th anniversary party in Los Angeles last night to find out their winter beauty secrets. “Always a little concealer,” Drew Barrymore told us of her signature beauty look (no matter the season!). “And always a ton of cover up stuff.” Although Barrymore, who wore a Jil Sander dress, Hunting Season clutch and a Lucifer vir Honestus ring, said it goes beyond that. “But, beauty is within. I don’t care if you’re the most attractive person on the planet. If you’re not good on the inside, it will show. You fall in love with people from the inside out.” See more celebrity winter beauty secrets and other party guests in the gallery.
