Though Rihanna has been known to be quite the hair chameleon, her latest style—poufy, red and big—may be our new favorite. The singer first revealed her new look via Twitter while working on a music video for “S&M,” a track off her new album Loud. Then last night, she appeared in Los Angeles almost unrecognizable under her voluminous curls (shown). But Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to rock big, bold hair in recent years. Check out a gallery of our favorite big hair looks.

The accessory—also a favorite of Rihanna, who wore them in her “Run This Town” music video—are the Albert earrings from the Flutter by Jill Golden collection ($185, FlutterNYC.com). “They give Mena just the perfect amount of edge to complement her all black, very feminine outfit,” Golden told InStyle of the look. As for why she thinks they’re such a celebrity favorite? “They are dangerous but pretty!” Click through the gallery to see more funky gold studs.
Rihanna‘s perfume is almost here! The singer’s first scent, named Reb’l Fleur after a nickname her grandmother gave her—a phrase she also had tattooed on her neck last summer—will hit stores January 25th. And Rihanna couldn’t be more excited: “I have never been happy with just one scent,” Rihanna told InStyle exclusively. “I have always layered scents to create something just my own, but nothing was ever perfect. So the time was right to create Reb’l Fleur—something people would recognize me by—something that would linger deliciously and make everyone say ‘Rihanna was here.‘” Find out more about Rihanna’s new scent in the gallery. Rihanna relaxed on the beaches of Barbados (her home turf) this week wearing a panther-print swimsuit by the Australian brand We Are Handsome. The label, designed by Indhra Chagoury and Jeremy Somers (inset), launched in 2009 with the idea of putting retro prints and images on classic cuts. “You can’t help but be captured by the prints and their bold beauty,” Chagoury told us about the line, when we caught up with the duo today about the suit. As for their reaction to Rihanna’s look: “We love it! She looks unbelievably hot, and it totally suits her personal style.” The suit, part of the resort 2011 collection, is available for $375 on Net-A-Porter.com.
