Though Rihanna has been known to be quite the hair chameleon, her latest style—poufy, red and big—may be our new favorite. The singer first revealed her new look via Twitter while working on a music video for “S&M,” a track off her new album Loud. Then last night, she appeared in Los Angeles almost unrecognizable under her voluminous curls (shown). But Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to rock big, bold hair in recent years. Check out a gallery of our favorite big hair looks.

Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t just become a country music singer overnight. The Oscar-winning actress (and Glee guest star) relied on her friends for pointers to perfect her role in Country Strong. “I was playing a bonafide superstar and that’s what kind of scared me the most,” our January cover girl told Good Morning America.” I thought, ‘How am I going to realistically pull this off?’ So I studied Beyonceto see how she performs and that kind of amazing confidence she has. I thought if I could just channel a little thimbleful of Beyonce’s confidence, then you know.” Catch Country Strong when it opens nationwide on Friday. Beyonce, Jessica Szohr, Blake Lively and a host of other celebrities partied on New Year’s Eve at the opening of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel and casino. And just before the clock struck midnight, we turned to the stylish crowd to find out if they had any plans for getting healthy in 2011. “It’s going to sound crazy, but traveling less,” Kristin Davis (wearing Prada) told us. “I get to go great places, but you don’t take that good of care of yourself when you’re always on the road. So I’m going to try to be home a little more.” Meanwhile, Brandy—wearing a Lipsy dress, which was styled by Taylor Jacobson—said she’s “cleansing.” “I’m going to really get back into being a vegan,” she said. “I’m going to put forth every effort I have to do that.” See more celebrities at the bash, and their get-healthy plans in the gallery.
