When we caught up with recently-engaged Eva Amurri, daughter of Susan Sarandon, at the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes after-party, the actress told us that her new marital status comes with its own set of challenges. Which is why she’s doing something about it. “I’m writing a book about how overwhelming being engaged is for a modern woman,” said Amurri (in Chris Benz), pictured here with her retired professional soccer player fiancé Kyle Martino. “I realized once I got engaged, that everyone is overwhelmed, but nobody talks about it. I’m going to try and write this book as a companion guide for women who are overwhelmed.” Though, that doesn’t mean she isn’t enjoying herself. “Tonight’s the first time I’m being photographed with my ring,” she said, showing off her round diamond solitaire, which is surrounded by diamonds and set on a pave diamond band (inset). “It’s a big deal.”

  1. get over yourself, woman. You are luckier than you will ever realize that your biggest problem in life is that you are stressed over wedding planning. Writing a book about how “overwhelming” being engaged is?

Wait until you get married, and you have to take care of a house and a husband and some kids, and work, then we can talk about overwhelming. But I forgot, you will have a staff, and working is optional. How nice for you.

  2. Way to come off bitter Dina. Unless you elope, planning a wedding CAN be overwhelming. Decisions about food, the venue, clothing, who to have in the wedding party, who to invite, ect. It’s a time where you have to not only plan the wedding you want, but plan the wedding your future spouse wants.

And you don’t know what her biggest problems are, just because her mom is a famous actor or her husband is a retired athlete doesn’t mean that she’ll have some huge house staff taking care of everything. So maybe YOU should get over yourself, or at least learn to be kinder.
